The goblins are gone... but the night got colder. 🌙
Something else moved into Vortex Scans after the candy thieves left. Lights flicker on the homepage, pages turn by themselves, and every so often you hear a faint "boo". The ghosts are here, and until October 31 we need hunters again. We need you.

🕯️ How the hunt works
Same rules as the goblin hunt, spookier targets:
- Sign in so your catches count.
- Read like you always do. Ghosts drift across the homepage and series pages, floating along the bottom of the screen.
- Click or tap a ghost to make it poof and claim its points. Tougher ghosts need more than one hit, and some blink away to a new spot.
- Watch out: some ghosts fight back. A loud BOO!, and they flee. Those don't count, so stay sharp for the next one.

Two hits, blinks, and drifts by in the gloom with its lantern. Follow the light.
Legendary Golden Spirit
15 points
Takes four hits, blinks and dodges. Roughly one ghost in a hundred. Catch one and the board will know your name.
🏆 The prizes
When the hunt ends on October 30, the top 10 hunters split 16,700 coins 🪙. Every ghost counts, so the more you read, the more you catch.

❓ Hunter's FAQ
Who can join?
Any signed-in reader at level 4 or higher, and there's no cap: everyone's welcome. It's free and never needs a purchase. Your first catch signs you up automatically.
Do my goblin points carry over?
No. The ghost hunt is a brand-new leaderboard and everyone starts at zero. The goblin hunt's final standings stay on the Goblin Hunt leaderboard.
I clicked a ghost but got no points. Why?
Some ghosts fight back with a BOO! and flee. Those catches don't score. Poltergeists and Lantern Phantoms need two hits, and the Golden Spirit needs four.
When do I get my coins?
Prizes are paid automatically when the hunt ends on October 30, straight to your balance. You'll get a notification with your amount. If two hunters tie, whoever reached the score first ranks higher.
How do I check my rank?
Open the Ghost Hunt leaderboard. It shows your points, your rank and whether you're in the prize zone.

Blinking ghosts fade out just before they jump. When one starts to fade, don't chase where it was: wait for it to reappear, then strike. And keep your cursor back until you're ready, because they dodge! 👻
