Invincible Escort

A fateful encounter that changes everything. Jang Cheon-woon was born the son of a third-rate martial artist. After losing his father, he became entangled with a gang of thugs and lived a rough, unruly life. One day, he rescues an old man—Elder Mu—who is dying by a riverbank. As Cheon-woon begins living with the old man, he starts having strange dreams every night. In those dreams, the old man teaches him martial arts, and before long, Cheon-woon begins growing stronger in the real world as well. Then one day, warriors from the Nine Heavens Fortress appear while tracking the old man. The old man, who had been concealing his true identity, disappears, and through a twist of fate, Cheon-woon becomes entangled with his pursuers and enters Gangryeon Valley, the Nine Heavens Fortress’s institution for training martial artists. Within Gangryeon Valley, Cheon-woon endures relentless training and fierce competition. Despite being mocked and looked down upon, he gradually proves his abilities and begins earning the recognition of those around him. Eventually, he is chosen to become the personal bodyguard of the Young Fortress Lord. But the duty of a bodyguard is far more than simply protecting someone from physical harm. It means surviving amid political schemes, conspiracies, and deadly power struggles. Within the Nine Heavens Fortress, factions seeking to seize the position of Fortress Lord begin to reveal themselves. The Young Fortress Lord senses the danger from within, but the enemy’s shadow has already spread deep into the organization. As Cheon-woon protects the Young Fortress Lord while increasingly becoming a target himself, he makes a vow: “I won’t protect you by sacrificing my life. I’ll become invincible, survive no matter what, and protect you without ever dying!” With traitors on the inside and hostile forces attacking from outside, the Young Fortress Lord’s life is soon placed in grave danger. Cheon-woon can no longer remain merely a bodyguard. He must become a martial warrior capable of carving out his own destiny. And to survive the storm of chaos closing in around him, he draws his sword.
