Common mistakes in English translation
1. The word "Jinma" (진마, 眞魔, “lord of the vampires”; literally: “true demon”, from 진, 眞, jin, “truth”, and 마, 魔, ma, “devil; demon; evil spirit”) is often mistakenly translated as "vampire", "demon", or "horse" (마, 馬, ma), and accordingly, "Jinma Sanyangkkun Silbeseutereu" (진마 사냥꾼 ‘실베스테르’, “Vampire Lord Hunter Sylvester” or “Jinma Hunter Sylvester”) is often mistakenly translated as "Sylvester, a true demon hunter", "Sylvester, a legendary demon hunter", "the vampire hunter Silvester", or "the true horse hunter Sylvester".
In the works of Jeonghoon Hong, "Jinma" is the most powerful vampire. There are 24 Jinmas in total, each of whom is the head of a vampire clan or holds a similar position.
2. The word "sinbu" (신부, 神父, “a father; a priest”) is often mistakenly translated as "bride" (신부, 新婦, sinbu).
